Recruitment and job adaptation for disabled workers
"My disability is silence," confides Céline. For a long time in denial, she has learned to live with her deafness, while continuing her career with our teams. Like over 80% of people with disabilities, Céline lives with an invisible handicap. She reminds us how essential it is to create an environment where everyone can express themselves, be understood and recognized for their skills above all else.
In 2024, we strengthened our actions with:
- the revision of our onboarding process, enabling disabled employees to be informed of our disability policy and to benefit from personalized support as soon as they join the company;
- adapting work situations to meet the specific needs of our employees;
- the roll-out of a new specific training program to raise awareness among recruiters, managers and teams of the realities of disability;
- enhanced support, particularly with regard to the Recognition of the Status of Disabled Worker (RQTH), to help our employees better understand the procedures involved and benefit from the appropriate measures;
- preventive actions to anticipate the risk of unfitness and encourage job retention (e.g. skills assessment, training, etc.)
Raising awareness to change attitudes
Changing the way we look at disability means enabling everyone to better understand, take action and create a more open working environment. Our awareness-raising initiatives, such as the Mois du Handicap (Disability Month) and the hosting of interns from secondary schools with disabilities, enable our employees to become actively involved through workshops, testimonials and immersive experiences.

"Don't hesitate to contact Mission Handicap"
What advice would you give to managers and teams who work on a daily basis with people with visible or invisible disabilities?
“ When I learned that I needed a hearing aid to compensate for my slight deafness, I contacted Axima Concept's Handicap mission, which guided me step by step. At 26, I didn't think I'd be recognized as a disabled worker, and I didn't know how to go about it. Right from the start, I was helped with the administrative formalities to qualify for the RQTH, and I was able to obtain financial assistance for the purchase of hearing aids. Axima Concept also gave me several half-days off to try them out, test them and fine-tune the settings. Within the company, we're fortunate to have people who can help us through difficult procedures and difficult times. Axima Concept, via its Mission Handicap, but also thanks to the support of my managers, helped me a great deal in accessing appropriate treatment, with people who were available, attentive and discreet regarding my situation. ”
Using the sheltered employment sector
With over 240 partner Etablissements et services d'aide par le travail (ESAT) and Entreprises adaptées (EA) throughout France, we have genuine expertise in the use of the sheltered employment sector (STPA). In addition to our subcontracting offer, we propose contractual schemes enabling our customers to benefit from the STPA's valuation in their annual declaration of Objective of Employment of Disabled Workers (OETH). This can take the form of simple assistance in selecting the EA or ESAT for a given service, subcontracting or making a service available, or even setting up a co-contracting arrangement for a batch of services. The Purchasing department has also been trained in the tools made available by Hosmoz and the inclusion market to source establishments that can meet their needs.
