Smart Buildings: Tangible Benefits in Everyday Life

Smart Buildings enable energy optimization by automatically adjusting lighting, heating, or ventilation based on the actual occupancy of the premises.

Predictive maintenance reduces operating costs by detecting anomalies before they become critical.
It improves occupant comfort and experience by personalizing spaces (temperature, lighting, connectivity).
The Smart Building also facilitates centralized management of all equipment via an intelligent Building Management System (BMS).
It contributes to the security of the site through integrated access control, video surveillance, and detection systems.
Thanks to the IoT, it offers flexibility of use by adapting to evolving configurations (shared offices, coworking, flex office).
It enables better traceability of usage data to manage building performance in real time.

By promoting system interoperability, it ensures the scalability of facilities over the long term.
Finally, the Smart Building is fully aligned with a sustainable approach, by reducing the environmental footprint of buildings.

Smart Building Certifications: To Add Value to Your Real Estate Asset

The term Smart Building is used to describe a large number of commercial buildings.

But how can you tell one Smart Building from another? Several certification programs exist that evaluate and recognize buildings based on their infrastructure, connectivity, and services.

R2S evaluates the infrastructure and equipment needed to implement services aimed at improving a building’s energy performance. This certification allows property owners to highlight the sustainability and scalability of their buildings, as well as to improve energy management.

WiredScore evaluates a building's connectivity. This certification allows developers to highlight the digital infrastructure of their buildings.

SmartScore evaluates the services and the technical infrastructure required to implement them. It ensures that tenants have access to a certain number of services in the building.

EQUANS provides specialized consultants to assist its clients in obtaining certifications for their buildings.
Our experts are well-versed in the requirements of these certifications and incorporate these criteria from the design phase onward.
We thus facilitate the certification process by ensuring technical, regulatory, and environmental consistency throughout the project.
