Since the 1980s, the Morlaix plant has been shaping a little-known but strategic know-how: the manufacture of antennas and radomes, essential components of communication and detection systems. Today, more than ever, as defense and sovereignty issues take center stage in the public debate, the Ineo Defense plant in Morlaix embodies French industrial excellence that extends far beyond our borders.
A plant anchored in its time
Since the 1980s, the Morlaix plant, Ineo Defense's first industrial site, has supported the development of French and allied capabilities in the fields of civil and military detection, communication and surveillance.
Specializing in the manufacture of antennas and radomes - radioelectric components and composite envelopes that protect antennas without interfering with their signals - this Breton plant has established itself as a national and international industrial benchmark. Today, it is a center of technological excellence, covering the specific needs of the defense and aeronautics markets, as well as the environmental and civil security sectors.
A subsidiary of Equans France, Ineo Defense is one of the world's leading manufacturers of radomes. With over 70 employees, the Morlaix plant designs and manufactures high-tech equipment ranging from a few centimeters to over 20 meters, capable of operating over a wide frequency spectrum.
One of its key strengths lies in its ability to master the entire value chain, for both antennas and radomes: electromagnetic modeling, mechanical sizing, composite manufacturing, integration, wiring, technical painting, microwave testing, installation and maintenance worldwide.
Over the past forty years, several thousand systems have been delivered from Finistère, equipping France's top-ranking surface ships, Rafale and Mirage fighter jets, Météo France radars and air surveillance systems for both the French Civil Aviation Authority and the French Air Force.
Over the past three years, the site has undergone a rapid and profound transformation. Under the combined effect of market growth and the needs expressed by state and industrial customers, staff numbers and activities have almost doubled .
Additive manufacturing using 3D metal printing has become an integral part of our production lines, enabling us to reduce the number of assemblies, improve precision and optimize lead times.
This industrial dynamic is supported by a strategy of continuous innovation.
In 2024, several more patents were filed, adding to the already solid portfolio ofIneo Defense, the 2nd largest company in the Equans group in terms of number of active patents.
