Military Navy

France holds the second largest exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the world, after the United States. This EEZ is crucial to French maritime sovereignty, offering strategic advantages for the protection of maritime interests, the management of natural resources and surveillance at sea. The French Navy, heir to a maritime tradition, is on the front line in defending these interests. Its missions range from nuclear deterrence to the fight against piracy, including the security of strategic sea lanes. It is also involved in humanitarian operations, demonstrating its commitment to safety and well-being at sea. With its expertise and advanced technologies, it embodies France's maritime sovereignty in a changing world.

To carry out their missions successfully, sailors need several essential elements:

Equipment and technologies

Adequate logistical support is crucial to ensure the supply of fuel, food, spare parts and other supplies needed to keep vessels operational for extended periods at sea.

Logistic support

Modern, well-equipped vessels and state-of-the-art technologies are essential to ensure on-board safety, precise navigation and effective communication, as well as to meet contemporary operational challenges.

Secure communication systems

Reliable, secure communications systems are needed to keep in touch with their base and other vessels, to coordinate operations and respond to emergencies. Secondly, in a maritime environment where communications can be intercepted, it ensures the confidentiality of sensitive information and protects the security of operations. What's more, such a system avoids interference and the risk of piracy, ensuring the safety of communications. In short, it is indispensable for guaranteeing the efficiency, security and confidentiality of communications at sea.

From multi-technical design to navy equipment availability

With regard to its challenges, the French Navy expects from defense manufacturers:

a technological innovation for cutting-edge equipment meeting present and future needs,
reliability and robustness ensuring their operation in difficult maritime conditions,
adaptability and scalability to adjust to different operational scenarios,
effective training and technical support for optimal use and maintenance,
and respect for the environment through eco-responsible solutions incorporating technologies to reduce ecological impact.
