"If I've been given a chance, why not another autistic person as gifted as me?
Just let us prove ourselves, and you'll see, you'll be won over."
Anthony - Technical Draughtsman in Building at Equans France
Disability and employment: Anthony's story at Equans France
A meaningful first job
Anthony joined Equans France in March 2023 as a Building Technical Draughtsman. After a career marked by obstacles, this first job represents a real personal victory.
“ I'm 36 and this is my first job. That doesn't mean I haven't done something before. I've always wanted to make my own way. ”
Diagnosed with Asperger's autism in his thirties, Anthony has learned to better understand how he functions and to turn his differences into assets.
“ I can see details that others cannot. I'm better at writing, reading, arithmetic and problem-solving. ”
Inclusion and support: successful integration at Equans France
The Pass Pass scheme, a gateway to employment
Anthony was able to find his way thanks to Pass Pass, a professional support program for autistic people.
The scheme enabled him to experiment with different professions until he found the one that really suited him.
“ I was put in front of a computer, and it turned out I was pretty good at it. In just a few days, I'd learned the ropes. ”
At Equans France, Anthony has found a caring work environment, where his colleagues know and respect his way of working.
“ Everyone knows I'm autistic, and that helps. People are caring and inclusive. ”
Building a more inclusive company together
Changing attitudes to disability in the workplace
Today, Anthony is proud of his achievements and hopes to inspire other young autistic people to believe in their potential.
“ Having a job takes me one step closer to independence. I now have the responsibility to lead the way. ”
Its history is a reminder that inclusion depends above all on trust, understanding and recognition of each person's skills.
At Equans France, we pursue this commitment every day: to create an environment where difference becomes a collective strength.
