"I nicknamed her My Little Rose.
It's cuter than multiple sclerosis."
Alice, HR Manager at Equans France
Disability and employment: Alice's fight against multiple sclerosis
A journey of resilience and courage
Alice discovered the disease at the age of 22, after an emotional shock. The first symptoms deprived her of speech and mobility. Despite successive attacks, she pursued her career, refusing to let the disease get the better of her.
“ For years, I lived in denial. I thought I could carry on as before, but my body always called me to order. ”
In 2017, a major crisis led her to leave her previous position. A few months later, she joined Equans France with the desire to rediscover meaning in her work, while learning to cope with "Ma Petite Rose".
Inclusion at work: a new beginning at Equans France
Human support and adapted facilities
Recruited in 2018, Alice discovers a caring environment where the value of each path is recognized. When her illness flared up again in 2020, Equans France arranged for her to work part-time and modified her working conditions to preserve her health.
“ Crises have taught me to slow down. At Equans France, I found that they listened to me sincerely. They allowed me to resume at my own pace, without pressure, while remaining useful to the team. ”
This tailor-made support enabled Alice to regain her confidence and balance, while reconciling her health with her professional commitments.
Building a more inclusive company together
Changing the way we look at invisible disabilities
Alice is in remission and continues to drive forward HR practices at Equans France. She has a strong message: daring to talk about your disability is a key step towards inclusion.
“ The more people are informed, the more open and welcoming the company becomes towards people with disabilities. ”
Its history reminds us that benevolence and managerial flexibility are essential levers for sustainable inclusion. At Equans France, we pursue this commitment: to support each employee in his or her uniqueness, and to make difference a collective strength.
