The Terra building, a vision of innovative, environmentally-friendly architecture!
In collaboration with Nexity and the groupe Cirrus Pegase, Aire Nouvelle, Equans France's low-carbon real estate development subsidiary, delivered the largest wood-frame building in Occitanie on March 21.
Located just a stone's throw from the Montpellier Sud de France LGV station, in the expanding Cambacérès ZAC, it is designed to accommodate its occupants in 7,356 sq.m of office space spread over 6 levels and a 99 sq.m retail space.
This project fits perfectly into the methodology that guides the real estate development entity: the Boussole Aire Nouvelle. Based on 4 axes (energy, mobility, materials and biodiversity), it enables us to design each project to measure and perfectly integrated into a sustainable approach.
The Terra building is part of the Materials axis, with its imposing 8,500 m² wooden structure. It has been awarded the BBCA label, proof of our entity's commitment to the energy transition and attesting to the Terra building's excellence in terms of carbon footprint.
The project's Energy axis is characterized by its connection to the heating and cooling network, as well as its installation of 400m² of photovoltaic panels on the building's roof. The Cambacérès district will also benefit from its own energy plant based on geothermal energy.
The building's construction method has reduced construction times, costs and nuisances, while guaranteeing optimum quality. Several environmental labels were obtained.
The Terra project combines accessibility and modernity. This workplace is focused on the well-being of its occupants and is designed, thanks to its infrastructures (terraces, wooden loggias and a green heart of islands), to encourage relaxation and productivity.
Terra is an excellent project in its low-carbon approach, it's a promise of value and quality of use for its future occupants sublimated by a very fine architectural gesture. Ludovic Mouly
