Fire Protection for Sabarot Stacker Cranes by Equans France
The Sabarot Wassner Group has entrusted Axima Fire Safety, an Equans France subsidiary, to implement a sprinkler-based fire protection system specifically tailored to its automated storage and retrieval systems. This system is designed to protect inventory and ensure the continuity of logistics operations, while complying with the strictest safety standards.
Fire safety tailored to the specific challenges of high-bay warehouses
The fire protection project for the high-bay warehouse housing Sabarot’s automated storage and retrieval systems presented a significant technical and operational challenge. This building, with a roof height of 23 meters and a storage height of 21 meters, houses sensitive finished products and required a reliable, code-compliant solution to provide effective protection against fire hazards.
Since it was impossible to use conventional glycol-based systems*, particularly due to the risk of product contamination, we proposed to our client the installation of Sprink’Eco, an innovation exclusively owned by Axima Sécurité Incendie that circulates low-temperature heated water through the sprinkler systems only when the outside temperature warrants it.
*Solutions consisting of water mixed with glycol, an antifreeze used to prevent water from freezing in the piping of sprinkler systems during the winter
Sprink’Eco: a solution that combines innovation with environmental responsibility
The Sprink’Eco solution keeps sprinkler systems frost-free by circulating water heated to a low temperature, thereby eliminating the need for chemical additives such as glycol. This innovative approach has been validated by the CNPP (National Center for Prevention and Protection), ensuring the system’s compliance.
