Spotlight on the Vannes Multimodal Interchange Hub footbridge
Since the arrival of the Brittany High-Speed Line in 2017, Vannes station has seen a steady rise in ridership. Today 3ᵉ gare de Bretagne, the multiplication of flows has made it necessary to completely reconfigure access to the neighborhood. The new pedestrian-cyclist footbridge reduces the separation between the two neighborhoods on either side of the tracks, and facilitates traffic flows in the area.
When night falls, the bridge is illuminated to offer all users, including people with reduced mobility, a safe and pleasant journey.
At the heart of the rotundas, luminous lines reveal the singular architecture of the structure, while the bicycle ramps benefit from discreet, homogeneous and glare-free lighting.
More than a hundred spotlights, triggered by motion detectors, accompany night-time movements.
Teams from Ineo, an Equans France entity specializing in buildingelectrical engineering, carried out all the lighting for the footbridge, giving priority to LED technology to ensure an installation capable of reducing energy bills while offering optimum light quality.
Thanks to this new lighting scheme, residents and travellers can now enjoy a soft, comfortable and safe link, encouraging active mobility and offering a new way of crossing the city every evening.
