Sustainable Industrial and Digital Transitions in Angers Loire Métropole with Ineo, a division of Equans France
In the heart of Angers Loire Métropole, Ineo—a division of Equans France—will inaugurate on July 16, 2026, a unique space dedicated to regional innovation: the Forum for Innovative and Sustainable Regions. This creative hub, part of the Angers Loire Métropole Smart Territory project, contributes to the sustainable transformation of public services. It is a space dedicated to innovation, experimentation, and the sharing of sustainable solutions that benefit local communities and citizens. Housed in Métamorphose, the Forum brings together public and private sector stakeholders and citizens to explore Ineo’s solutions. It is organized around three key areas that showcase the innovations of the TIALM* project. The goal: to facilitate the adoption of tomorrow’s urban practices.
Ineo, a division of Equans France and Angers Loire Métropole: a partnership for a sustainable, low-carbon, and technologically advanced region
The Angers Loire Métropole Smart Territory (TIALM) project stems from a regional assessment that highlighted both the dynamism of local initiatives and the need for better coordination among regional stakeholders.
With this in mind, Angers Loire Métropole sought to enhance its appeal, optimize the performance of its public services, and accelerate its ecological and digital transition.
Following the competitive bidding process, the Ineo Consortium was selected to lead the project, which was launched during the first quarter of 2020.
From March 2020 through March 2032, Ineo and its partners—Suez, the VyV Group, and La Poste—are supporting Angers Loire Métropole in carrying out one of the most extensive digital and energy transformation programs ever undertaken by a French local government.
Street lighting, traffic lights, green spaces, buildings, waste management, parking, safety and prevention, water: nine major areas are covered, managed from a single Hypervision center designed and deployed by Ineo.
Through the implementation of work integration hours and the organization of skills-based volunteer workshops, the project fulfills tangible CSR commitments that strengthen its local roots and its societal impact.
Inspired by the vision of the Angers Loire Métropole Smart Territory project, the Forum was created to serve as a showcase for the region’s transformations.
Its purpose is to:
-
Raise public awareness of innovations and their applications;
-
Promote the solutions implemented in the region’s twenty-nine municipalities;
-
Bring together economic, educational, and institutional stakeholders in a venue that symbolizes the energy, digital, and industrial transitions.
Each year, it will host the Innovative and Sustainable Territories Award (TID), an event that highlights the most innovative and responsible initiatives serving local communities. This awards ceremony reinforces the Forum’s mission by showcasing exemplary projects and fostering the exchange of experiences among local governments, businesses, educational institutions, and citizens.
Ineo, a division of Equans France, is creating an innovative immersive experience for the Angers Loire Métropole Smart Region
To address these challenges, Ineo, a division of Equans France, has designed an experience structured around three immersive spaces:
This collective momentum helps create an ecosystem that fosters exchange and collaborative development.
Ineo, a division of Equans France, and Angers Loire Métropole are collaborating through the Forum for a Sustainable and Attractive Region
The Forum for Innovative and Sustainable Territories has established itself as a major platform for raising the profile of Angers Loire Métropole and Equans France.
The inauguration took place in the presence of:
-
Pierre Hardouin, Managing Director of Equans France,
-
Christophe Béchu, Mayor and President of Angers Loire Métropole
-
Christophe Maufoux, Managing Director of Connected Cities & Territories at Equans France.
By making digital and ecological transitions easier to understand, the Forum helps residents and local stakeholders embrace these innovations.
It encourages collaboration, stimulates local innovation, and contributes to the region’s economic appeal.
More than just an exhibition space, it is becoming a living environment where everyone can find inspiration, learn, and help shape the city of tomorrow. A true regional laboratory, led by Equans France, dedicated to a more sustainable, smarter, and more human future.
