Complex technical issues at the heart of urban transformation
The project involves a complete overhaul of the technical equipment essential to the smooth operation of the lines:
- Develop sustainable, integrated urban mobility: meet growing travel needs by ensuring the harmonious coexistence of different modes of transport (tramway, electric bus, train, cable car, bicycle, walking, etc.) in an urban environment undergoing major renewal.
- Guarantee the safety and reliability of critical systems: ensure the availability and performance of infrastructures (communication systems, signalling, public lighting, supervision) essential to the safety and comfort of users, even in a complex and constrained context.
- Meet deadlines and manage operational constraints: reconcile ambitious technical achievement with the need to limit urban disruption and deliver service on schedule, in line with the 2026 commissioning date.
Three Equans France added values for a high-performance, integrated network
To meet these challenges, Equans France mobilized the complementary skills of its three entities:
Bouygues Energies & Services Transport Urbain et Routier took charge of the deployment of low-voltage systems, including a multi-service network (RMS, RIU), Centralized Technical Management (GTC), a new Passenger Information System (SIV), as well as video surveillance and public address systems. These solutions ensure real-time control and supervision of the infrastructure. To this end, 11 tramway stations and 13 BHNS stations have been equipped with digital devices designed to :
- Streamline communication with the Passenger Information System,
- Enhance security via video protection and intercom systems,
- Supervise and control the entire network via Centralized Technical Management.
Bouygues Energies & Services and Ineo have modernized public lighting, with the renovation of 758 masts and 29 technical cabinets to clearly distinguish between different urban uses, improving comfort and safety while complying with ecological and regulatory standards. Their action also extends to :
- Diverting and renewing drinking water and wastewater networks, to facilitate access and maintenance before the tramway is built,
- Burying overhead networks along the BHNS route to protect them from the vagaries of the weather,
- Install 230 remotely-managed LED lighting masts along part of the tramway route, to optimize public lighting by 2025.
Systrans, an Equans France entity, has designed and integrated the Système d'Aide à l'Exploitation et à l'Information Voyageurs (SAEIV), a complete real-time supervision and management tool for controlling the operation of the service, monitoring vehicles and assisting drivers and dispatchers. SAEIV also enhances reactivity in the face of hazards, and provides fluid, continuously updated passenger information.
Key figures for the "My network is growing" project
This multi-disciplinary partnership ensures optimum integration of the infrastructure in a renovated urban setting, with a strong focus on safety, energy efficiency, regularity of service and quality of the passenger experience.
