AN AMBITIOUS PROJECT FOR INTELLIGENT, SUSTAINABLE PUBLIC LIGHTING: EQUANS FRANCE IS COMMITTED TO REDUCING THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF THE CITY'S PUBLIC LIGHTING SYSTEMS
With a population of almost 20,300, Beaune is located in Burgundy, a town with a rich wine-growing and architectural heritage, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As part of its ambitious energy policy, Beaune has launched a Global Performance Contract (MGP) to modernise its public lighting and optimise the associated electrical infrastructure. Following a competitive dialogue, the contract was awarded to a consortium led by Ineo Réseaux Nord Est (lead contractor), Ineo Infracom (part of Equans France) and co-contracted with Dalkia Electrotechnics Citelum (a subsidiary of the EDF Group).
An energy transformation focused on innovation, efficiency and sustainability
Faced with the challenges of energy and the environment, Beaune has identified three strategic priorities:
Making energy savings
- Generate at least 43% additional energy savings following the completion of the public lighting works.
- A transition to 100% LED lighting, which is more efficient and consumes less energy, and the integration of intelligent dimming to limit light pollution.
Optimising equipment operation
- Standardising infrastructures to facilitate maintenance and optimise network management.
- Modernisation of overhead and underground networks and control cabinets.
- Improving traffic lights, with audible signals for the visually impaired.
Enhancing the region's appeal
- Modernising and harmonising urban lighting to enhance public spaces, by renovating video projection kiosks and highlighting emblematic sites.
- We will also be maintaining a 2 km lighting trail, which will contribute to the city's night-time entertainment.
