Adapt and modernize without interrupting production
The pharmaceutical industry operates in a challenging environment where expanding production capacity—amid significant land constraints—has become a major challenge.
This challenge is not limited to the construction of new plants, but primarily involves the expansion of existing sites through the integration of new operations and increased production capacity.
At the Norgine site, this approach resulted in the reconfiguration of existing spaces and the addition of vertical space, with the construction of an extra floor that significantly increased available floor area and doubled production capacity while maintaining the same footprint.
All of the work was carried out without interrupting operations at the site.
The pharmaceutical company has now begun integrating two new products at this site; these were previously manufactured in Wales, with one of them also being partially produced by subcontractors.

Comprehensive project management for a complex construction project
ERAS conducted the feasibility study, design, and coordination of all contractors involved on behalf of Norgine.
To maintain production during construction, strict measures were implemented, such as the airtight containment of construction zones, the separation of traffic flows, and the temporary relocation of certain support functions.
This project involved nearly 9,000 hours of design and construction management.
An in-depth constructability study was conducted early on to anticipate risks, critical interfaces, and concurrent activities.
This preparation made it possible to adapt the industrial facilities without disrupting ongoing production and to ensure the project’s safety.
