In Auch, Bouygues Energies & Services is opening a new construction center dedicated to the energy transition in the Gers region
Bouygues Energies & Services inaugurated its new construction center in Auch, in the presence of local elected officials and Dominique Néel, Deputy CEO of Bouygues Energies & Services, a subsidiary of Equans France. Completely rebuilt, the site has become a full-scale showcase of the company’s expertise in energy transition. Photovoltaic shade structures, energy storage, smart consumption management, and charging stations: the building achieves a self-consumption rate of over 90 percent—a performance level designed to be replicated in the future in schools, town halls, and public or private buildings throughout the Gers and neighboring departments.
With a presence in Auch for over twenty years, Bouygues Energies & Services is expanding its local operations with a new center designed to meet the growing needs of local governments, energy consortia, and public and private entities in the Gers region. With a total floor area of over 850 m², including 400 m² of office space and over 450 m² of warehouse space, the site is currently home to 45 to 50 employees working primarily in the fields of outdoor infrastructure and the technical and energy management of buildings.
A smart building as a full-scale demonstration project
What sets this new center apart is the way it operates. The building was designed as a full-scale demonstration project, with a goal of achieving over 90% self-consumption through a combination of photovoltaic panels, a storage battery, and an energy management system (EMS).
The energy produced on-site can thus be stored and managed according to the building’s needs. Electric vehicle charging stations are also integrated with the generation and storage systems.
The site also incorporates various solutions dedicated to energy efficiency and digital technology: smart streetlight control tools (via the CITYBOX and SoWatt solutions), building management systems, monitoring systems (via the ALIZE solution for EV charging stations), and digital tools designed for local governments.
Initiatives promoting the circular economy are also integrated into the project, including a space dedicated to reuse (via Equans’ “Re-Use Corner” solution), water recovery, and waste sorting and recycling.
The building is also experimenting with collective self-consumption (ACC), which allows for the local sharing of a portion of the electricity generated on-site with nearby consumers. Combined with outdoor infrastructure, building management systems, energy storage, and digital tools, this helps make the Auch office a comprehensive and replicable model.
