Paris accelerates its cycling transition: Equans France at the heart of "Plan Vélo Act II
In Paris, soft mobility takes a new turn. As part of the Plan Vélo Act II (2021-2026), the City of Paris is stepping up its efforts to become a 100% cycle-friendly capital. To transform the roads and adapt the traffic lights to this new use, it called on the expertise of Ineo Grand Paris Normandie - Agence d'Argenteuil , in a consortium with Spie Citynetworks.
A high value-added mission for sustainable urban mobility
This ambitious project is a continuation of the Plan Vélo launched over 10 years ago, with a clear objective: to encourage the circulation of bikes, buses and streetcars, while reducing the capital's carbon footprint.
The new facilities will help reverse the current trend. Until now, car traffic was favored via traffic light regulation; from now on, priority will be given to buses, streetcars and bicycles thanks to a "green wave" system (specific adjustment of traffic lights).
Objective 2029: a complete and safe cycle network for all users, with particular attention paid to the most vulnerable, such as pedestrians.
Technical expertise and optimized site organization
Nearly 6 Equans France employees are working on this project. Thanks to a dedicated structure, a single point of contact and excellent knowledge of Parisian site constraints (dense traffic, limited space, interdepartmental coordination), the work is progressing smoothly, minimizing disruption to users.
The complementary expertise of Equans France and Spie Citynetworks was a decisive criterion for the City of Paris, which was keen to ensure rapid, controlled execution. The project represents sales of 3 million euros.
Concrete action for the energy transition
With this project, Equans France confirms its role as a partner in the energy transition and sustainable urban mobility. Reduced pollution, enhanced safety, encouragement of active mobility... all concrete benefits for Parisians.
