Active Ingredients: Meeting the Demands of a Market in Recovery
As an innovative industrial sector and a key driver of reindustrialization, the chemical industry is ubiquitous in our daily lives, with some 85,000 products on the market. Active ingredients, or Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), synthesized through chemistry, are the raw materials for all medications, providing them with therapeutic and preventive properties. EQUANS France supports SMEs and large companies in this market, which is subject to strict regulatory and environmental constraints.
Meet the requirements for qualification criteria regarding quality, safety, and environmental compliance
EQUANS France is involved from the production phase onward and meets the compliance requirements for the construction of buildings, production facilities, and laboratories. Our experts are able to design and build active ingredient manufacturing units that produce different dosage forms—powders, liquids, and granules—within a single facility, while accommodating numerous formulas and recipes.
We ensure the traceability and flexibility required for these units from the design phase onward by using BIM at the outset of projects. Our digital management, Industry 4.0 maintenance, and energy efficiency tools optimize the sustainability and reliability of the facilities. Controlling contamination in a room, analyzing and monitoring air quality, managing both people and material flows, and ensuring a safe and secure production environment in cleanrooms (clean concept) are all critical imperatives. One of the Group’s strengths is its ability to manage all of these requirements.
EQUANS France, a market leader with a comprehensive offering
EQUANS France is involved in every stage of a project, from design to implementation, and from qualification to maintenance of facilities. The Case of Sanofi Sisteron
Sanofi Sisteron: Pilot Site for Energy Optimization
The Sanofi Group’s plant in Sisteron produces active pharmaceutical ingredients for drugs in various therapeutic areas. Operating 24 hours a day, this facility requires a continuous supply of energy year-round. How can the production of industrial cooling—which is essential to the plant’s manufacturing processes—be made more reliable, while optimizing resources and reducing energy costs and environmental impact? To address these major energy challenges, EQUANS France was commissioned by the Sanofi Group for its Sisteron plant.
