Today, armed forces are investing heavily in the digitization of the battlefield to ensure technological superiority. While digitization provides a technical and scientific solution that helps reduce uncertainty and the “fog of war,” it is also necessary to protect these systems—including meteorological, communication, and navigation systems, as well as detection, fire control, jamming, and other electronic warfare systems found on military platforms—against all types of threats without compromising their performance. As these systems evolve and are modernized, the radomes used must evolve alongside them.

Our response
As a preferred partner of major government contractors and industrial prime contractors, Equans France, through its “Defense and National Security” division, designs, manufactures, and maintains all types of mobile and fixed microwave radomes and composite solutions, regardless of size or application. Drawing on decades of expertise, our team provides the armed forces with customized, electromagnetically transparent, and robust end-to-end solutions that protect them from threats.

Performance
We design radomes tailored to your needs:
- GEOMETRIC: size (from 5 cm to 15 m in diameter), weight, footprint, low profile,
- MECHANICAL: high speeds, environmental and aerodynamic considerations (bird strikes, impacts, sand, etc.), ballistic resistance;
- TECHNICAL: range, sensitivity, electromagnetic performance across the full broadband frequency range (0 to 60 GHz) of the antenna or sensor to be protected; Composite materials;
Our radomes are manufactured from materials of French or European origin. They are therefore not subject to U.S. ITAR regulations.
A multi-layered blend of technologies and complementary areas of expertise
All of our radome solutions are entirely designed and developed at our facilities in Morlaix (29 – Finistère). Developing a protective structure that is strong enough and transparent enough to ensure successful transmissions is an ongoing challenge for the teams in our “Defense and National Security” division!
From product design to assembly techniques (prepreg, high-performance, injection molding, contact molding, structural bonding), including signal processing, the microwave transparency of the composite material, and the optimization of the radiation pattern: more than 55 employees with diverse expertise are dedicated to your radome!
