HVAC: Combining Comfort with Technical and Energy Excellence
HVAC: Combining Comfort with Technical and Energy Excellence
HVAC and thermal systems contribute to the overall well-being of a building’s occupants, as well as to the proper preservation of a work of art or the provision of clean air for a hospitalized patient. This is an area in which Equans France has a long history of expertise.
Meeting the increasingly specialized needs for air control and regulation on behalf of clients with diverse profiles (the service, maritime, and hospital sectors; pharmaceutical laboratories and plants; logistics companies, etc.), the Group designs, builds, and commissions any project requiring expertise in HVAC engineering. But that’s not all! In addition to technical excellence, there are two essential links in the value chain and lifecycle of any system: its operation and maintenance, and its energy optimization.
Issues Related to Comfort, Quality, and Energy Efficiency
Building services engineering encompasses technologies related to occupant comfort (heating and cooling, air conditioning) and indoor air quality (ventilation and air treatment). This technical system, also known as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), is one of the most energy-intensive components; it accounts for 40% of a building’s total energy consumption. To keep energy costs under control, it is therefore essential to use resources wisely and to maintain the systems so that they remain in perfect working order. Exemplary HVAC systems—characterized by their energy efficiency and optimized operation—make it possible to decarbonize the building.
We also assist our clients with the demanding process of obtaining building certifications, both nationally and internationally: the BBC label, BREEAM®, HQE, and LEED certifications. We bring our in-depth knowledge of regulations specific to high-rise buildings (IGH) and public-access facilities (ERP).
Digital Technology: The Driving Force Behind Environmental Performance
Thanks to digital technology, we view a building as a collection of installed and interconnected systems. We enable its smart and customized management. Our digital building management solutions provide our clients with effective tools to improve the performance of their facilities, reduce energy consumption, and optimize their environmental footprint. The combination of BIM, building automation systems (BAS), and the Building Operating System (BOS) allows us to create the “digital twin of the building” and lay the essential foundation for leveraging information over the long term to optimize usage.
So-called “smart” buildings incorporate this dynamic, evolving model. As such, the ability to make systems interoperable, capture data, and analyze it to derive value plays a fundamental role in managing the building’s resources as a whole. This is referred to as digital assets, smart buildings, or digital building assets.
Cover the entire value chain of this trade, the most technical in the construction industry
Thanks to its long-standing expertise as an installer, Equans France stands out for its ability to handle all the systems that keep a building running. Heating, ventilation, regulation, ambient temperature and humidity control, airflow management through pressure cascades, air conditioning, smoke extraction, and plumbing are all part of our expertise. The Group operates across the entire value chain to optimize the performance of systems; during the design, construction, and operations and maintenance phases, serving the commercial, healthcare, data center, education, government and public sector, hospitality, leisure, and retail markets, among others.
All team members and points of contact are highly qualified. Their technical expertise enables them to make decisions independently and respond quickly during project execution.
As experts in project management, we are expanding our services to include large-scale construction projects that integrate HVAC systems with plumbing, fire protection, electrical engineering (high- and low-voltage systems), and smart building systems for Building Management Systems (BMS) or Centralized Technical Management (CTM).
