How does it work?
Heat pumps (HP) require two elements to operate: low-temperature energy and electricity. Low-temperature energy can come from the environment (ambient air, waterways, groundwater) or from the recovery of waste heat emitted during industrial processes (heat emitted by machines, furnaces, and cooling systems).
This heat is captured, converted, and raised to a specific temperature using a small amount of electrical energy, before being transferred to the medium to be heated (water, air). Thus, instead of generating heat from new resources, heat pumps recycle energy that is already present, thereby contributing to an approach based on energy efficiency and circularity.
The recovered heat is then reused for various purposes: production of industrial and/or domestic hot water, heating, drying processes, distillation, and concentration, etc.
