Industrial robotics case study: the miscellaneous product production line

- Challenges

In order to optimise production changes, the customer manufactures the same products for 2 or 3 days, palletises them, places them into stock and removes them from stock according to customer orders (mix-and-match style of order preparation)
- Constraints

  Strenuous handling

Variable operation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day

  Risk of errors

  Operator waiting time
- Solutions

Dynamic storage of products manufactured with a combination of robots and automatic stackers

  Product traceability

Removal from stock based on orders

  Manual intervention possible
- Benefits

  Operator time optimised

  Immediate availability of products

  Significant space saving

  Continuous traceability
