Explora Residence in Saint-Malo
Toward Innovative and Sustainable Housing
Discover Explora, a project developed by Aire Nouvelle, a division of Equans France, in partnership with Icade and Brownfields, just a stone’s throw from the Saint-Malo train station.
Ideally located in a seaside town on the Emerald Coast, Explora consists of 8 residential buildings comprising 126 units certified as High Environmental Quality (HQE) housing, ranging from studios to 6-room apartments.
At Aire Nouvelle, our teams are convinced that it is crucial to develop new urban models capable of addressing climate and societal challenges while offering exceptional living spaces.
The Explora project embodies this vision and is guided by the four pillars of the compass:
Energy
Thanks to a wood pellet biomass boiler that ensures optimal thermal comfort while reducing CO₂ emissions and helping to meet the 2025 Level of the RE2020.
Biodiversités
The residences are arranged around landscaped courtyards typical of Saint-Malo gardens, offering generous and refreshing green spaces. The project is part of the BiodiverCity certification program, ensuring our strong commitment to biodiversity.
Transportation
The project respects the natural habitats of Saint-Malo’s animal and plant species, promoting eco-friendly and sustainable modes of transportation, with spacious bike storage areas, charging stations for electric vehicles, and car-sharing spots.
Materials
The use of environmentally friendly materials is at the heart of our approach, which has been certified as “Bio-based Level 2.” To minimize our carbon footprint, we have incorporated a wood-frame facade, low-carbon concrete, and wood-fiber insulation into our project.
