STORM DETECTION – AMEO340
The AMEO340 system consists of an electrostatic probe and a processing unit that allows users to track all stages of a thunderstorm’s development. The probe continuously measures the electric field generated by a distant cloud within a radius of approximately 20 km and therefore alerts the user to the risk of a lightning strike before it occurs at the location being protected.
The graphical interface makes the device easy to use; remote access in client mode is possible via a web browser, the device records data that allows for replaying past scenarios; view display: graph, alarm level indicator, data export, configuration; The central alarm system provides alarm thresholds and a summary of faults.
Caractéristiques techniques
- Early detection before a lightning strike
- Measurement principle - Electrostatic field ±100 kV/m
- Coverage radius up to 20 km - Resolution: 10 V/m
- Detection advance warning of up to 20 minutes
- Graphical touchscreen interface – data export – Multiple remote clients – digital output
Application
The AMEO340 is recommended for sensitive facilities where the lightning risk assessment is high and indicates a potential loss of life, where service continuity is critical for maintaining the facilities and where significant economic stakes are involved.
This applies in particular to SEVESO-classified sites (high threshold), construction sites where people are exposed, the pyrotechnics industry, data centers, space centers, military sites, etc.
The AMEO340 is a Class A device according to the IEC 62793 standard for lightning detectors.
