Health and Safety: Equans' Policy
Health and Safety: Equans' Policy
Safeguarding the physical and mental well-being of every employee is a priority for Equans. Today, all our branches and employees are trained in the best practices to follow on job sites.
Our ambitions are to be the leader in our fields and to leverage all the advantages this position affords us to accelerate the growth of the company, address societal challenges and ensure that all of our employees, including employees, temporary workers, and employees of our subcontractors, return home in good health every day.
Our company is committed to providing the resources, the rules and procedures necessary to improve the health and safety on a daily basis for all of its employees.
The Foundation of Equans' Policy
Our priority objectives are centered on two areas of focus: safeguarding the physical and mental well-being of our employees and strengthening our management of industrial risks, including nuclear safety and radiation protection.
Equans is committed to a process of continuous improvement to:
- Affirm the leadership and exemplary conduct of managers
- Encourage initiatives that promote well-being: reporting best practices, hazardous situations, lessons learned, and HIPOs* (where is the explanation for the asterisk)?
- Involve employee representative bodies in our actions
- Support subcontractors and ensure they adhere to our Golden Rules
- Develop and structure occupational health and safety prevention measures, particularly through awareness-raising and training for all
- Take all necessary steps to address opportunities for innovation, new internal or external threats, and prevent the risks of major industrial accidents
- Comply with all applicable regulations, governance rules, ethical principles, the Group’s nuclear safety and radiation protection policy, as well as our clients’ general policies
- Ensure the proper application of prescribed rules (VMS, audits, etc.)
The goal is to make everyone a committed and exemplary advocate for their health, as well as their own safety and that of others by changing behaviors.
The Pre-Start Meeting: An Effective Preventive Tool
The Pre-Start Meeting is a management meeting convened by the site manager every morning at the job sites.
This initiative allows the team to collectively identify risks on the job sites each day and ensure that activities get off to a safe start. All employees and subcontractors present are briefed on the tasks to be performed that day, ensuring that everyone has clearly understood the instructions.
“ It is a participatory process. During the meeting, issues related to production and the action plans to be implemented that day are thoroughly reviewed. The feedback we receive from our clients shows that this is an effective approach. ”
