ELYSE ENERGY, a pioneer in low-carbon fuels: green hydrogen and e-fuels
Elyse Energy, founded in 2020, is a pioneer in the production of low-carbon fuels, focusing on the development, design, construction, and operation of green hydrogen and e-fuel plants.
In 2022, Elyse Energy launched two ambitious projects for the production of sustainable fuels:
- BioTJet: a project to produce e-biokerosene to help decarbonize air travel (SAF, Sustainable Aviation Fuel - Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)EM-Rhône: a project to produce e-methanol to help decarbonize maritime transport and serve as an intermediate for the chemical industry south of Lyon.
Elyse Energy has a two-fold goal: to control costs and minimize environmental impacts
Elyse Energy faces numerous challenges in the design and construction of these two e-molecule production plants:
Eras, a specialist in sustainable engineering
ERAS is a sustainable, multi-disciplinary engineering firm and a subsidiary of Equans France, and as such, supported Elyse Energy as a project management consultant for the launch of the two projects between late 2022 and 2023, ensuring a well-managed design process for both plants: industrial strategy, feasibility studies, cost and risk assessments, assistance with permitting processes, and more…
In 2024, ERAS continued to support Elyse Energy through the subsequent stages of its projects’ development by conducting pre-FEED design studies.
E-biokerosene production plant

- Capacity: 75,000 metric tons per year of e-biokerosene
- Total electrolysis capacity: Approximately 200 MW
- Estimated investment of 1 billion euros
- Site area: 45 ha
E-methanol production plant
Process: Production of e-methanol from industrial CO2 and low-carbon hydrogen.
- Capacity: 150,000 metric tons/year of e-methanol
- Total electrolysis capacity: Approximately 240 MW
- Estimated investment of 700 million euros
