Equans France is modernizing the technical facilities at the Port of Dunkirk
At the Greater Port of Dunkirk (GPMD), a strategic hub in Northern Europe renowned for its maritime, logistics, and industrial ecosystem, Equans France is strengthening its technical support alongside its subsidiaries Ineo Industrie and Bouygues Energies & Services Infrastructures Extérieures. For more than 20 years, the teams have been working in the port area to fulfill the Dunkerque-Port multi-contractor framework agreement for “Lighting – New Construction,” of which both companies are contractors.
Modernization of the electrical and lighting networks at the Greater Dunkirk Seaport by Ineo and Bouygues Energies & Services
Ineo provides services at the site in the areas of high-voltage and low-voltage systems, automation, video surveillance, fiber optics, and lighting.
For lighting, Ineo has partnered with Bouygues Energies & Services since 2024:
-
Ineo handles the wiring of control panels and automation systems,
-
Bouygues Energies & Services is responsible for installing and removing lighting at both low and high elevations.
The consortium installed solar-powered light poles at the river port and replaced floodlights on the Quai aux Aciers.
Equans France is managing the rail signaling system at the Port of Dunkirk
Bouygues Energies & Services is also working on the site on railway signaling, under a contract running from February 2025 to March 2026.
As the lead contractor for a consortium formed with FORTIL, a company specializing in signaling studies, Bouygues Energies & Services led the modification of the signaling and telephone systems associated with the removal of a section of the Huttes railroad line.
The project involved up to ten people on-site.
Long-term support to strengthen the infrastructure of the Port of Dunkirk
Thanks to its complementary areas of expertise, Equans France is providing long-term support for the technical transformation of the Greater Port of Dunkirk, a major player in Europe’s energy and industrial transition.
The projects being carried out enhance infrastructure performance, improve site safety, and support the port’s environmental goals, particularly through the installation of low-‑emissions.
This success illustrates Equans France’s ability to meet the complex needs of a strategic region, ensuring safety, performance, service continuity, and technical innovation.
