Issues
- Remove an NH₃ machine room (SDM1) located in the middle of the plant to improve safety
- Relocate the site's refrigeration production to the second machine room (SDM2)
- Implement heat recovery to reduce the site’s natural gas consumption
Solutions
- 1 BP cylinder at -9°C with a reservoir for an NH₃ pump + 1 NH₃/MEG heat exchanger (2,250 kW) with the option to add a second
- 2 Mycom screw compressors in a heat pump system (1,100 kW, operating range -9 / +54°C), 1 evaporative condenser, 1,450 kW
- 1 heat recovery skid, 3.1 MW, 2 DHW tanks, 100 m³ each
- Integration of the two refrigeration systems and retrofit of the SDM1 and SDM2 PLCs onto the new PLC for the expansion
Benefits
- Energy savings: commitment to produce 345 m³ of hot water at 57°C daily
- Ensuring reliable cooling capacity
- -Energy optimization of the system: improvement in the pressure drop during summer operation from -11°C to -6°C
