ORANO x Ineo Nucléaire
“Zero-Carbon” TCE General Contractor x Ineo Nucléaire: Modernizing and Accelerating the Carbon Modernization of an Industrial Site
Location: La Hague Site
Duration: 3 years
Year of completion: 2021
28,000 metric tons reduction in CO2 emissions per year
The Issues
The project involves replacing a heavy fuel oil boiler at the ORANO La Hague plant to ensure the site’s continued production of process hot water while reducing its carbon footprint.
- The main challenge of the project is meeting the November 2023 delivery deadline for the new building, in order to avoid another ten-year inspection of the existing fuel oil boiler.
Solutions
This “TCE” project is being carried out with optimized time and cost requirements to avoid the mandatory 10-year inspection of the old equipment:
- A design-build proposal combining the group’s multidisciplinary expertise: building construction, a new electric boiler and its associated utilities (high- and low-voltage power, control systems, fluid processing and civil engineering, ventilation, and protection systems);
- Complementary expertise combining the Group’s experience in major projects with the strong commercial presence of local teams;
- In-depth knowledge of existing facilities, enabling us to effectively support the client in identifying improvements;
- Financing engineering and grant applications (Recovery Plan).
