The Issues

  • Participating in the construction of a new power plant in the United Kingdom that will meet 7% of the country’s electricity demand: 2 EPR reactors, each with a capacity of 1,638 MW—covering 7% of the United Kingdom’s electricity demand.

Solutions

  • Ventilation and air conditioning for the nuclear island (contaminable and non-contaminable areas), the pumping station, and the effluent treatment building at the nuclear power plant;
  • Detailed design: updating 3D models using the Axima HVAC catalog, airflow calculations and fan selection, seismic calculations, and updating supports in the PDMS models;
  • Supply of ventilation equipment;
  • Qualification of safety-related equipment under accident conditions (fire, seismic, irradiation, and aging tests, etc.).
