The Smart City Digital Hub Opens Its Doors in Angers
The Smart City Digital Hub has just opened its doors in Angers, in the presence of Christophe Béchu, Mayor and President of Angers Loire Métropole. A place for learning and collaborative development of tomorrow’s services in the field of smart and sustainable cities, this Fabrique serves as a hub for collaboration between citizens, the teams at Angers Loire Métropole, and all project partners.
A unique venue serving local communities
The Fabrique numérique of Angers Loire Métropole aims to serve as a forum—that is, a space for dialogue among all stakeholders. It brings together elected officials, users, citizens, local government employees, and project partners, and pursues three main objectives:
1- Educate stakeholders on new applications, particularly in the areas of public lighting solutions, security, digital twins, and hypervisors;
2- Provide highly practical training for all teams working in the field, primarily through awareness-raising modules;
3- Collaboratively develop and support new applications.
Immersion, prototyping, training
In addition to the solutions implemented throughout the region, the opening of La Fabrique provides a very concrete explanation of how the processes of creating, developing, and deploying innovative services for residents and users of public services work.
With figures, images, and explanations, the approach is decidedly educational and relies on concrete examples. Through interactive activities and workshops, visitors can now understand the mechanisms that enable the transition from an idea to its implementation on the ground. Parking and access to information about healthcare services in the Angers region are just some of the topics addressed at the Fabrique.
Developed in collaboration with local government and partners, the tools made available at the Fabrique aim to provide a better understanding of the smart region project as a whole, as well as the benefits generated by the deployment of digital technologies.
“A hybrid, innovative, and flexible space, the Smart City Digital Hub is a unique venue that contributes to the development and acceleration of the project, which was launched two years ago. Together with all its partners, Angers Loire Métropole is proud to write a new chapter in urban innovation in support of the ecological transition,” emphasizes Christophe Béchu, Minister Delegate for Local Governments, Mayor of Angers, and President of Angers Loire Métropole.
