Profile: 4 Questions for Laura BORTOT
To mark International Women's Day on March 8, we invite you to read a profile of Laura BORTOT, Account Manager at Equans Digital.
What is your background, and what is your current role at Equans Digital?
I joined Equans ten years ago as an industrial IT developer. I was later given the opportunity to serve as a project manager on small projects and then on larger ones (with teams of up to 8 people).
Today, I work as a Business Manager leading a team of about 25 people.
Why did you choose this path, and what ambitions stem from that choice?
I’m naturally curious, so I’ve always wanted to work in a field that requires strong technical knowledge. Moving into project management came naturally because I’ve always wanted to address clients’ needs holistically. Finally, the management aspect is what I enjoy most: sharing our experiences, growing, and evolving together.
After 10 years at Equans Digital, how do you feel about it?
I’m thrilled to have been able to advance to this position. I’m also very happy to have seen my team grow. Watching my former work-study students become team leaders is my greatest achievement.
Do you have any advice for women who want to follow the same career path as you?
Don't be afraid of technological challenges—the world is changing, and it's no longer that important to be the only woman on the factory floor or in strategic meetings!
