Cyclone Chido struck the Mayotte archipelago hard, causing numerous deaths. We are deeply saddened by this tragic situation, and we all admire and are grateful for the dedication of rescue workers, law enforcement, and emergency response teams on the ground. A true chain of solidarity is forming to help the all-too-many victims.
Our teams on the ground are deeply committed. The technicians from Icart, experts in climate engineering, are fully mobilized. The very next day after the disaster, four technicians were on the scene to carry out initial repairs at the Mayotte hospital to ensure that disaster victims could be cared for under the best possible conditions.
Secours Populaire, with whom we have been building a relationship for the past two years through various solidarity initiatives, is currently responding to this disaster by working locally with its partners in Mayotte. The organization is calling on everyone today to offer their support and join this wave of solidarity.
