Equans France: a key player in the Villejuif–Gustave Roussy station project, named “the most beautiful station in the world”
On December 19, 2024, our teams were present, alongside Bouygues Bâtiments Ile-de-France Équipements Publics, at the key handover ceremony for the Villejuif train station - Gustave Roussy station to the Société des Grands Projets.
Today, the station—which has been serving passengers on Line 14 for nearly a year—received the 2025 Versailles Prize in the “train stations and transit stations” category, which recognizes recent architectural achievements in eight fields. This award, supported by UNESCO, bestows upon it the title of "the most beautiful train station in the world."
Built 50 meters underground across 9 levels, this station is designed to serve as a key hub for the Île-de-France transit network.
Located at the intersection of Lines 14 and 15 South, it serves, among other destinations, the Campus Grand Parc urban development zone and the Gustave-Roussy Institute.
To ensure energy efficiency as well as the comfort and safety of the 100,000 daily passengers, our Axima teams carried out work on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and smoke extraction (HVAC), plumbing, and sprinkler systems.
Ineo, for its part, installed the high- and low-voltage electrical systems, platform facades, radio network equipment, and fire safety systems (SSI).
A key project to support the development of urban mobility in the Île-de-France region.
