Rungis: Axima Réfrigération, a division of Equans France, replaces a critical refrigeration unit
Axima Réfrigération, a division of Equans France, carried out a strategic project at the Rungis International Market to modernize the refrigeration systems in Building V1T. The project, carried out while the facility remained in operation, aimed to replace an aging refrigeration unit with more efficient equipment that complies with future regulations.
A Strategic Challenge for the Energy Efficiency of the Rungis International Market
The building needed to reduce its energy consumption while preparing for regulatory changes related to refrigerants.
The old refrigeration system no longer met performance and reliability requirements, making modernization essential.
The Rungis International Market, a major logistics hub, could not afford any downtime, requiring precise planning and a reliable temporary solution.
The challenge was therefore to balance energy efficiency, compliance with standards, and the full continuation of operations.
A skillfully managed modernization effort to ensure efficiency and business continuity
The teams first installed a temporary cooling unit to ensure the building’s thermal stability throughout the duration of the project.
Once this safety measure was in place, the old equipment was dismantled and replaced with a more efficient system that has a low environmental impact and complies with upcoming regulations.
The modernization also included the plumbing system, with the replacement of pipes, valves, and connections.
Thanks to this phased approach, the site remained fully operational.
Building V1T now features a more energy-efficient, more reliable system that is better suited to future needs.
The work carried out by Axima Réfrigération, a division of Equans France, enhances the energy efficiency of the Rungis Wholesale Market and ensures its long-term operational reliability.
