On Tuesday, January 24, Jean-Pierre Farandou, Chairman and CEO of the SNCF Group, and Mathieu Hanotin, Mayor of Saint-Denis and President of the Plaine Commune Public Territorial Authority, announced the winner of a large-scale urban projectlarge-scale urban project that will reflect the defining dynamics of the Territory of Culture and Creation and its biodiversity goals through the regeneration of an industrial brownfield site.

SNCF Immobilier, in partnership with the City of Saint-Denis (93) and Plaine Commune, launched a call for proposals in 2021 seeking operators to lead a new urban project with a strong cultural focus on the “Cathédrales du rail” site in Saint-Denis—a former SNCF train maintenance facility spanning 6 hectares.

Eiffage Aménagement and Aire Nouvelle, a subsidiary of Equans France, form the winning consortium for this call for proposals, thanks to a pioneering proposal for an eco-responsible and culturally rich neighborhood, open to the city and the surrounding landscape.
