When Equans offers operators an automated way to manage their vehicle fleets using the NAVINEO Asset Management Platform
Ineo Systrans, a division of Equans France dedicated to the design and development of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Services, is the creator of the NAVINEO Asset Management Platform (NAMP). This innovation enables operators and maintenance centers to manage the lifecycle of their fleet of on-board computers and track their movements at any time. Deployed since late 2022, this system is gradually being rolled out in France and North America. Today, nearly 30,000 ECUs are registered on the platform.
As a leader in Operations Support and Passenger Information Systems (SAEIV) for public transportation through its NAVINEO solution, Ineo Systrans has been supporting its customers locally for years. Already installed on more than 50,000 buses, trams, and trains across more than 250 public transit networks worldwide, NAVINEO leverages digital technology to improve the quality of passenger data, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize the systems of public transit operators.
NAMP, a new accessible and secure web-based solution, is designed for operators already equipped with NAVINEO. It tracks the movements of devices within a transit network (vehicles, passenger information kiosks, intersection controller interfaces) across various possible statuses: in stock, installed in a vehicle, removed, under repair, and so on.
Specifically, a control unit—which includes a unique, software-readable identifier—is installed in a piece of equipment. It is connected via the SAEIV—which manages it—to the NAMP platform, thereby enabling the operator to collect and process multiple data points in real time: an overview showing changes in the controller fleet, a controller log, and a comparison of hardware and software configurations. When a computer is installed in a vehicle, the vehicle notifies the NAMP platform, which collects the data. If a computer in a vehicle is replaced by another due to a malfunction and sent to a repair center, its status is accessible in real time via the NAMP solution.
This innovative tool addresses key challenges for operators, such as managing obsolescence, staying informed about the status of ECUs across their fleet, and knowing which software version is installed. For NAVINEO, this data is crucial because, when control units are replaced (for a new extension or version), it ensures their proper compatibility.
