Modernization of Street Lighting in Limoges: The City Switches to LED
The City of Limoges (87) has begun a partial renovation of its streetlighting system with the support of Ineo and Bouygues Energies & Services, subsidiaries of Equans France, as well as project management assistance from INERGIE ADAPT.
This project relies on innovative digital solutions, including LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology, to accurately map the lighting network and optimize studies conducted across the entire region.
The use of this solution enabled the project to achieve, at the local level and in record time, a level of deployment rarely seen for this type of project.
Digitizing the construction site also made it possible to track the progress of the work in real time and facilitated the updating of the municipality’s infrastructure data.
Upon completion, the project is expected to enable the City of Limoges to achieve energy savings of up to 89% on its street lighting, while maintaining lighting suitable for nighttime use through the modulation of light intensity.
