An agreement to support our volunteer firefighters
“Protect, prevent, and support: more than a motto—it’s our reason for being!” ” The core values of Axima Fire Safety, a subsidiary of Equans France specializing in fire safety, echo those of volunteer firefighters. These everyday heroes play an essential role in ensuring everyone’s safety and security. Their dedication and courage are invaluable: they are the first people we turn to when faced with an emergency. However, this sector is currently facing a real shortage of recruits. It’s a harsh reality: we’re short on volunteer firefighters in France! How can companies turn the tide and enable citizens to balance their volunteer work with their professional lives?
Axima Sécurité Incendie is well acquainted with the reality of fires and the irreparable damage they cause. Since 1983, this organization—a certified installer—has been committed to addressing these challenges through its daily work, protecting sites and preventing fires. Equans is also well aware of the realities of modern buildings and the increasing complexity of their components, which heighten the risk of fire.

As a leader in fire safety, it seemed obvious to us that we should support our employees’ commitment. About a hundred of them are already volunteer firefighters. By signing an agreement with the Fire Department, we want to go a step further by granting them dedicated days to carry out their duties! We recognize them as pioneers and wish to build on this awareness, with the goal of raising awareness and inspiring new recruits to join the fire department.
Going beyond corporate commitment to embrace a civic-minded approach—that is the challenge we are striving to meet in line with Axima Fire Safety’s values: “protect, prevent, and support”. The signing of this agreement is the logical next step, consistent with our line of work. Within our teams, many men and women are familiar with the reality of firefighting. Being a firefighter isn’t something you can just wing—it’s a true calling. Working for a company committed to protecting property and people, and serving the nation and the public interest—it’s possible! That’s what we experience every day at Equans France.
