AI Enhancing Energy Efficiency at the Francis Bouygues Building at CentraleSupélec
A look back at a 4-month pilot project conducted on the CentraleSupélec campus in Paris-Saclay by our Equans Services Buildings & Infrastructure teams. There, they are responsible for the operation and maintenance of this building—part of one of Europe’s largest higher education and research hubs—under a 26-year public-private partnership (PPP) contract that began in 2017.
The goal is to use artificial intelligence to optimize the control of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems in real time. The Thermosphr solution integrates weather forecasts and actual building occupancy data, thereby significantly reducing the environmental impact while ensuring optimal comfort for occupants.
The numbers speak for themselves:
84 MWh saved during the pilot
14% reduction in energy consumption
This pilot demonstrates how innovation supports our teams in sustainably reducing our clients’ carbon footprint, while ensuring comfort and performance.
