Equans is supporting RATP in its Ultra-High-Speed Broadband Network project
In 2014, Equans partnered with RATP and Nokia on the Very High-Speed Network (RTHD) project, one of Europe’s largest and most complex communication networks for video streaming.
Its goal: to provide an IP/MPLS network capable of supporting all of RATP’s services: surveillance cameras, telephony, TETRA, data services, and a new VMS (software that centralizes video surveillance).
About 20 Equans employees were involved across the project’s entire value chain through the entities Ineo UTS, Ineo Infracom, and Ineo Tinea. Equans experts handled the video infrastructure, installation services, and software integration tailored to each specific use case. In addition to these commitments, RATP benefited from personalized customer support. These entities now ensure the operational maintenance of these systems.
Close collaboration with partner teams enabled the development of a deep understanding of specific needs and the ability to anticipate and resolve challenges. Beyond the context of the health crisis, employees faced significant operational constraints. The work was carried out during passenger service hours, requiring migrations to be performed without impacting the systems in order to maintain a high level of security within the RATP network.
Today, RATP’s security control centers have access to more than 13,000 cameras, which can be viewed in real time and continuously via a secure, redundant network.
