Equans France, the Mines-Télécom Foundation, and Mines Saint-Étienne formalize a partnership to support the industry of the future and artificial intelligence
Equans France has formalized a partnership with the Mines-Télécom Foundation and Mines Saint-Étienne by joining an academic-industry partnership program designed to accelerate innovation for the industry of the future: BRAIN Chair on the DIWII campus for the 2026–2028 period.
The BRAIN Chair gives Equans France access to DIWII’s infrastructure, its network of prospects and partners, as well as demonstration and communication spaces. This collaboration showcases our expertise and fosters exchanges with students, researchers, and industry professionals.
A Partnership for the Industry of the Future
Based in Charbonnières-les-Bains, the DIWII platform is a true “factory-school” dedicated to the industry of the future.
It enables companies, students, and professionals to test, experiment with, and learn about technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, digital twins, and digital lean.
Through this partnership, Equans France is helping to accelerate the transition of innovations from the experimental phase to their deployment in businesses.
A financial and technological contribution
Under this agreement, Equans France agrees to provide:

A financial donation dedicated to the BRAIN Chair: €100,000

Provision of a prototype and associated software
The demonstrator on display in DIWII’s showroom combines image recognition technology with an industrial control system.
It is capable of automatically recognizing different categories of hamburger buns—classic, sesame seed, viewed from above, or upside down—based on a video feed.
Beyond its educational and demonstrative purpose, this solution illustrates the ability of Equans Digital—a division of Equans France—to integrate multiple technological components to address concrete industrial challenges:

This demonstrator can be used for DIWII activities, particularly in the context of training, demonstrations, and experiments focused on the industry of the future.
