Equans France Ensures Safety on Line C of the Toulouse Metro
The new Line C of the Toulouse metro promises to improve travel within the “Pink City,” offering faster and more reliable transportation. Its construction is being led by Tisséo, the public transit operator, through its subsidiary Tisséo Ingénierie. This project relies on collaboration with its long-standing partners: Axima’s TVS* division and the regional teams of Ineo—both subsidiaries of Equans France—in a joint venture with Eiffage. The system is scheduled to begin operations in late 2028.

Toulouse Metro Safety: Equans France Conducts a Smoke Test on Line C
Tisséo Ingénierie has placed its trust in us since 2002: the extension and safety upgrades of Line A and the construction of Line B.
This relationship of trust continues with the construction of Line C.
This time, as part of a consortium with Eiffage, they will conduct the design studies and carry out the electromechanical ventilation work for the structures with Axima Tunnel, as well as the high-voltage electrical installations in the stations with Ineo.
To ensure the safety of the workers excavating the Line C tunnel, a smoke test (simulating a fire) was conducted.
It involved: 80 firefighters, a psychological support team, the SAMU emergency medical service, the prefecture’s emergency response team, as well as several actors, who were required to take refuge in the survival cabin while awaiting the arrival of emergency responders.
Our expertise put to the test in the field: a strong commitment to everyone’s safety
This training exercise made it possible to test procedures for ensuring the safety of personnel, assess coordination among the various responders, and simulate real-world conditions as closely as possible to improve on-site performance.
For Tisséo Ingénierie, it represents a key step in ensuring the protection and evacuation of personnel; for the Axima teams, it is an opportunity to put their solutions to the test in real-world conditions.
This type of service is an integral part of the services offered by Axima’s tunnel teams to ensure the safety of people.
