What are the must-haves for the new R1 supplement in November 2022?
The standards are constantly evolving to make them easier to read or to keep pace with technical developments, our technical experts take special care to actively participate in drafting Rule R1.
By working daily alongside the CNPP, we are committed to ensuring that these standards remain accessible and up-to-date with changes in the context, the profession, or the equipment.
What is the benefit of the latest R1 additive?
The latest R1 supplement from November 2022 included 120 major changes or corrections. It’s therefore difficult to cover all of the content here…
But here are four main examples:
- Official records must document all equipment interlocks that could affect the operation of the sprinkler system
- The layout of intermediate networks in an HH# rack1/2/3 at a maximum vertical distance of 3.5 m may be increased to 4 m with 4 sprinklers instead of 3
- In ESFR, exposed non-expanded plastics classified as HHS#4 with a percentage of cellular plastic < 25 % of the package’s volume in a 13.7 m may be stored at 12.2 m instead of 10.7 m
- For unlisted goods, the two charts used to determine the material factor are relaxed; for example, a shipment containing 30% by volume of non-exposed, boxed cellular plastic goes from 4 to 3
The R1 addendum from November 2022 issupplement the R1 rule from 2020, and these changes will not be incorporated into your rule until the publication of the next R1, which is not expected before 2024.
New updates available to you
That is why, we are pleased to provide you with all of these modifications formatted to be cut out and pasted directly into your R1 upon request.
Alongside the CNPP and France Assureurs, we are currently participating in other projects on the following topics: lithium battery storage, waste treatment centers, photovoltaic panels, automated storage systems, and electric charging stations in parking lots.
The world is changing, and so are our standards, and we are committed to being part of that change.
