Verso Energy and Equans France Sign a Partnership Agreement to Develop Hydrogen Projects for Heavy-Duty Transportation
On Wednesday, June 14, during the 10th edition of the “Journées Hydrogène dans les Territoires” event, held this year in Pau, Verso Energy and Equans France—through its Hydrogen Business Unit, formed by the merger of the hydrogen teams from Bouygues Energies & Services and Axima—announced the signing of a partnership agreement to develop hydrogen infrastructure projects for heavy-duty mobility.
This partnership builds on the collaboration initiated between the two companies for the Alp’Hyne and H2BYCOL projects, which were selected in the European Connecting Europe Facility call for proposals last March. Drawing on their complementary experience and expertise, the two partners now aim to support about ten projects brought together under the partnership. This support includes, among other things, optimizing the design of the facilities and the electricity supply plan, as well as securing funding, notably through new national and European grants.
Recently selected as winners of the European Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) call for proposals for the deployment of hydrogen production and distribution units, Verso Energy and Equans France, through its Hydrogen Business Unit, have signed an agreement aimed at replicating the success of their collaboration on the Alp’Hyne and H2BYCOL projects. As a reminder, the two projects, grouped under the name ArcHypel, aim to create three stations for the production and distribution of renewable, carbon-free hydrogen along the corridors of the European RTE-T transport network. Located in Bonneville in the Arve Valley and in the Île-de-France region within the Francilienne Low-Emission Zone, the Alp’Hyne and H2BYCOL projects will, respectively, decarbonize industrial activity and transportation in Haute-Savoie, as well as the fleets of two major construction companies in Île-de-France: Bouygues Construction and Colas.
