Gilles Ricarrere: “A project carried out with great care”
What is a site supervisor's day-to-day routine like?
This week, we’re back with Gilles Ricarrere at the construction site of the Surgical and Interventional Center at Rennes University Hospital.
“ Here, I’m sort of the production coordinator on site—which means I manage the schedules, monitor our subcontractors’ progress and the quality of their work, and, above all, ensure the quality of the structures we’re building. ”
With 43 operating rooms and 209 inpatient rooms, the Rennes hospital construction project is a massive undertaking.
“It’s important to prevent any outside germs from entering each operating room, so we have positive-pressure rooms to avoid any contamination.”
When Gilles looks back on his career, he feels a sense of pride:
“ Before I started managing people, I began working with my father at his company. And through hard work, we’ve come to manage some of the most important projects in France. It’s truly rewarding. ”
