Robotics is accelerating the development of Industry 4.0 and driving reindustrialization in the Centre-Val de Loire region
Since its founding three years ago in Montargis, Equans Digital’s Robotics Lab has been bringing together an increasingly broad range of digital technologies. Its teams are working to develop innovations and optimize industrial facilities. As a result, reindustrialization through the relocation of production is becoming a reality. This is the case for BLM, a company specializing in the manufacture of enclosures and electrical products. This is good news for the economy, employment, and the climate.
Conceptualization, design, and integration: BLM sought to bring a large portion of its product manufacturing back from China. This goal required that all production units be automated and robotized. The manufacturing process for electrical enclosures is complex, as it requires a dual-injection system for both rigid and flexible materials. The relocation of production was made possible by expertise in robotics, automation, and data management solutions. Thus, the doors to Industry 4.0 are swinging wide open right here in our regions. The icing on the cake is that these solutions are financed through leasing, which allows BLM to retain significant investment capacity to remain innovative and competitive.
A Range of Expertise
The Equans Digital teams began with an in-depth analysis of the products to be manufactured and the production equipment. Intensive discussions with BLM enabled a collaborative development process that took into account and anticipated their future needs. In addition to robotics, Equans Digital drew on its expertise in automation, laser marking, and real-time data management to optimize the management of BLM’s industrial facilities. The selected solutions are scalable, combining customer proximity with competitiveness.
